Blake Carter's Money Story - Part One

“I was ashamed & embarrassed …and scared to admit that I was making good money but was struggling.”

We have ALL been guilty of this.

On the outside pretending like we have our financial life together, all while secretly trying to hide the truth that we are deep in debt, have zero savings and feel overwhelmed, ashamed and confused about how to manage our money.

When I first started working 1:1 with Blake Carter, former Morning Show Host on Flow 93.5, I knew her story had to be told. Because it's the money story of so many women, including myself! We hide, we ignore our bank accounts, and hope it all goes away or that someone (i.e.. a partner) will come and fix it.

In part 1 of this special IG Live, Blake opens up about her own money story.

Growing up, she would see her mom using credit cards for purchases but they were never to let her dad know what had been bought or how much spent, otherwise an argument would ensue. This secrecy around money is what caused Blake to develop anxiety when talking about her own money as she became an adult. It made her uncomfortable, so she avoided it.

She also talks about having a lack money mindset that had her saying over 100 times a day that she was broke and bad with money, laughing off the identity of scarcity that was subconsciously developing in her mind.

She was the butt of her own poor money management jokes and it got her to a place where she realized that she just couldn’t live like that any more. So she decided to take control.

Don't you want to be the woman who has her money right? Who knows how to be in control and stay in control? Deep down, I know you do.
